Brogrammer (“we”, “us”) operates the website at brogrammer.net and publishes the Brogrammer plugins for JetBrains and VS Code. This page describes what we collect, why, and what we never collect.
What we never collect
The Brogrammer plugin runs entirely on your machine. We do not receive any of the following:
- Your source code, file contents, or file paths.
- Your cursor position, open tabs, or editor selections.
- Your commit messages, branch names, or Git history.
- Your memories, rules, or semantic-search embeddings.
- The arguments or responses of MCP tool calls.
The plugin talks to our backend only to verify your subscription. All context engineering happens locally.
What we do collect
- Account data: email address, display name (optional), timestamps for creation and last sign-in.
- Billing data:Stripe customer id, subscription tier and state, period end, cancellation timestamps. We never see or store card numbers — Stripe handles payment processing directly.
- Device metadata:a SHA-256 hash of your IDE installation id (not the id itself), the IDE family (“jetbrains” or “vscode”), the IDE and plugin version, and the last time the device contacted us.
- Audit data: sign-in events, device approvals and revocations, and subscription state changes.
How we use the data
- To authenticate you and enforce your subscription.
- To bill you via Stripe and handle refunds, renewals, and cancellations.
- To debug operational issues and respond to support requests.
- To send essential service email (sign-in links, billing receipts, security notices). We do not send marketing email without your consent.
Sub-processors
We rely on the following third parties to operate the service:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Our email provider— transactional email (sign-in links, receipts). Configured via SMTP and listed in the service status page.
- Our hosting provider — runs the API and database.
Your rights
You can request export or deletion of your account data at any time by emailing privacy@brogrammer.net. Deleting your account revokes all device tokens and removes all personal data; billing records required by law are retained for the legally required retention period.
